Stories and Pictures

The death of a powerless Palestinian.
Khalil Taher: His Palestinian roots put him on the front line.
Khalil Taher is one of the Palestinians who hold the Israeli citizenship. They are called ironically Israeli Arabs. They call themselves Israeli Palestinians or Palestinians (48). The Palestinians who hold the Israeli citizenship have their rights systematically breached. On many cases, they were mistreated even worse than Palestinians who are denied citizenship. In the beginning of the Intifada, thirteen of them were killed as they were demonstrating in solidarity with their brothers and sisters. Many of their properties were destroyed. Israel government is still refusing to listen to their just demands of International inquiry.

Khalil Taher was serving in the Israeli army. All Palestinians do not even consider serving in such an army. It is considered as an act of treason. The Palestinians who do are poor and uneducated. Khalil Taher is a young man from Akko. He comes from the Naqeb desert Bedouin Palestinians.
Omar Saeed. Snatched and imprisoned by Hizbollah. He is of Palestinian origin.
Whoever put him in Shaba'a farms knew that his life is at risk sooner or later. Shaba'a farms are occupied territories of Lebanon*. Hizbollah fighters are trying to drive Israel out of it to complete the liberation of their country. Hizbollah is famous for its very successful operations against Israeli targets. In May 2000, Hizbollah forced Israel to relinquish its occupation of most of Lebanon. Hizbollah has snatched three Israeli soldiers and imprisoned them on Oct, 8th, 2000. Israel is imprisoning hundreds of Palestinians, Lebanese and Jordanians in its jails and is refusing to release them in return. Israel is in a state of peace with both the Palestinians and Jordanians, yet it refuses to open a new page with its neighbours.

In a strange coincidence, one of the three soldiers happens to be a Palestinian with Israeli citizenship!

*Israel claims the farms are part of Syria. Syria says the farms are part of Lebanon. Lebanon says the farms are part of Lebanon. Then on what ground Israel is saying that the farms are Syria's!

Nov, 26, 2000: A roadside bomb exploded near Khalil army vehicle. Khalil was killed.

Khalil died wearing the uniform of an army oppressing his people. His body will be wrapped with the flag of a state destroying his people. He will be buried while Israeli generals who sent him to the front-line fabricate sadness to his death.

This is the picture of 19 years old, Yousef Medhat. He was serving in the Israeli army. His mission was to defend an Israeli army position located in the centre of 100'000 Palestinian city. On  September, 30th, 2000, He was shot and left bleeding for a day. The Israeli army did not bother to go in to save his life, because Jewish lives might be lost to rescue an Arab.
