Tribute: On January, 2001. this tribute was written.
In memory of the late Dr: Yousef Allan, Palestine representative to Ireland. Who was a friend and a brother to us all.
Dr; Yousef Allan was found dead in his apartment on January, 17th, 2001. He was 47 years old. He was associated with organising the Palestinian community in Ireland. On the Irish media front he was well-known. One of his contributions was his help in the launching of Intifada.com. He had many friends in Ireland, Scotland and England.
The report in the Irish Times, the Israeli ambassador described him here as a "personal friend". He described Yousef Allan as a "fine" diplomat.
The proof of the "friendship". Mr:Sofer in this earlier letter expresses outrage from being described by Yousef as a "failing" diplomat. here
If you are interested in reading the letter that annoyed Mr: Sofer so much. here
The funeral of the late Yousef Allan. here
The death of Dr; Yousef Allan was suspecious
and the Irish police findings are alarming.
To every one who expressed solidarity with our people in such difficult circumstances. Their noble feelings give us hope in this world.
More than anyone we are grateful to the people who are active in spreading awareness about the Palestinian problem. In the streets, newspapers, TV and radio; they never miss a chance to correct a misleading story or an anti-palestinian report.
In the Internet aspect: there are many people who deserve special thanks.
In Intifada.com, we are tremendously grateful
to those who helped and are helping us to tell our story to the world. The
translations of the site were done for free by people we never met or talked
to before. Spanish translation was done by a Palestinian diplomat in Nicaragua,
Mr: George Salamah. Susanne Shiedt translated the site to German and sent
it from Italy. The French site was unique because of the co-operation between
a Moroccan lady living in Canada and a Belgian gentleman residing in his
own country. Giorgio Basile completed the translation and built the site in
its entirety to be ready for the net. Mercedes Sanz impressively finished
the ten pages document in a time record. The Danish site is to her credit.
Tobbe Egleus translated the site to the Swedish language. Michiel de Jong
translated the site to his native Dutch language. Angela Maria Ferreira Lopes
from Switzeland edited and completed the symbolic contribution made by Julio
Pino from the United States. Angela completed the whole of the translation
of the site to portuguese in less than three days. More languages are yet
to come. If you know of any other credible well made sites supporting the
Palestinians in any language email:
info@intifada.com
These honest feelings
which translate into active participation in the Intifada are the light in
the end of the tunnel to our people.
We pray for peace and justice to all.
